Rearleg Measurements

1.    acetabulum--diameter of the hip socket
2.    ilium--distance from the top of the iliac crest or hip bone to the midpoint of the acetabulum measurement
3.    os coxa--distance from the top of the iliac crest to the lowest point on the pelvis
4.    ischial tuberosity (ischial tub.)--distance across this boney landmark where a number of  muscles attach
5.    femur--length of the femur from the midpoint of the acetabulum to the end of the growth plate
6.    femur cavity (f. cavity)--internal diameter of the femur (diameter of the medullary cavity)
7.    femur width (f. width)--external diameter of the femur
8.    growth plate--length of the bright remnant of the puppy growth plate on the femur
9.    condyle--perpendicular distance from the midpoint of the growth plate to the rounded end of the femur
10.  tibia--length of the tibia from the small notch in the top to the arc of the ankle joint
11.  tibia cavity (t. cavity)--internal diameter of the tibia (diameter of the medullary cavity)
12.  tibia width (t. width)--external diameter of the tibia
13.  tarsal joint--distance connecting the ends of the arc created by the tibia sitting on the foot
14.  in-lever--distance from the center of the ankle joint to the midpoint of the back of the calcaneus bone
15.  calcaneus--length of this bone from the midpoint of the back to the midpoint of the front
16.  foot--distance from the center of the ankle joint to the end of the longest metatarsal bone
17.  metatarsal--length of this bone from the midpoint of both ends
